The Witch of the North is an office, and the books pass it between people. Baum's holder is unnamed and good, and gives Dorothy the kiss on the forehead. Thompson reaches back and puts Mombi in the post before her, wicked, until Tattypoo conquers her — and then reveals Tattypoo to be Queen Orin under an enchantment, who lays the title down again in the same book.
